Our Arena Our arena was built in the fall of 2004. We bought an arena package from Southwest Equine, Inc out of Oklahoma. It measures 150 feet wide and is 250 long. The ground is blow sand at least 4.5 feet deep (that's how deep we dug the post holes). It is made of 10 foot panels, with a 5 inch post at each 10 foot junction. The panels are 6 rungs and 5 feet high. SW Equine was great to work with on this arena! There is a shelter belt that borders the south and east sides of the pen, and it has a gradual slope down to the southwest corner. The arena drains quickly and can hold a lot of water. The ground has been worked up for several years- just as a barrel patch and I've made a hard run in it 6 hours after 2 inches of rain. No slip, no slop!
